Cervical Cancer Lurking Women, Beware

Women are sometimes less or even do not understand about cervical cancer. And in Indonesia cervical cancer became the number one killer.

2002 data showed, from 13 pathology centers in Indonesia cervical cancer became the number one killing machine. Cervical cancer, occupying 25 percent of the 10 types of cancer that strikes men and women. While the percentage of women cancer has 26.4 percent of the 10 types of cancer that attacks.

This indicates Indonesian girl dies every hour due to cervical cancer. In the world every two minutes a woman dies due to this cancer. It is estimated that cervical cancer kills 270,000 women every year.

Cancer is caused by an attack Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Usually strikes women of childbearing age, approximately thirty to fifty years. HPV types 16 and 18 are the cause of 70 percent of cervical cancer in Indonesia and the world.

Cervical cancer attacks the cervix which is the lowest part of the uterus. The attack starts from the cervix into the uterus (womb) and then reach the vagina. From these organs continue to spread to other parts if not treated.

The disease is transmitted through genital skin contact. Infection is persistent and can not disappear by itself. Most women do not feel affected by this cancer. The majority of women realized when an attack has already reached a high stage.
